What is SLYS?

SLYS is a tool that fragments and encrypts files of your selection, virtually anything as it works at byte-level.

After fragmenting your file SLYS will return a seed which is capable of reconstructing the file, you can store it in the app or by yourself

Why?

We’re increasingly exposed to unauthorized access to our files. This tool fragments and encrypts your data so it can’t be read or rebuilt without your permission.

Only with the correct password and the Slys-generated seed can the original file be restored, keeping full control with the user.

It also features a self-erasing mechanism after a period of inactivity, securely wiping its own data. (Coming in future versions)

If something happens to the user, the data remains on the system but is completely inaccessible. However, the user can reinstall the tool and use the seed to recover the original files.

How to use it?

To fragment

Select target file to fragment (no spaces in between)
Select the places where you want the pieces to be
Select file encryption type: Mid recommended
Select number of pieces, can be let on default
Write a password, you’ll need it for recomposing
Press Slys, the pieces we’ll be created

To recompose

Select or add the seed of the file you want to recover
Write the password
If everything goes well the file will be placed in the same location you put it

⚠️ About Windows SmartScreen Warning ⚠️

You may see a Windows SmartScreen warning when launching the app for the first time.
This happens because the executable is not digitally signed with a code-signing certificate.

As an independent developer working on this project without funding or sponsorship, obtaining a verified digital signature is currently out of reach — the cost of such certificates is very high, especially for early-stage or hobby projects.

Rest assured:

The application does not contain any malware or harmful behavior.
The warning is purely due to Microsoft Defender’s reputation system, which flags unsigned apps by default.

The SLYS platform provides a decentralized tool for fragmenting and reconstructing sensitive information through the use of cryptographic keys. It is the sole responsibility of the user to securely store and manage the keys generated by the application.

Loss, accidental deletion, or mishandling of these keys may result in permanent loss of access to the fragmented data.

Neither the development team nor the application shall be held liable for any damages, data loss, or consequences arising from the mismanagement, loss, or deletion of the keys by the user.
